REGARDED AS THE OSCARS OF THE AVIATION INDUSTRY, THE SKYTRAX PASSENGER CHOICE AWARDS WERE HANDED OUT. TURKISH AIRLINES WON THE AWARD “BEST AIRLINE IN EUROPE” FOR THE SIXTH TIME IN ADDITION TO THREE MORE AWARDS.

 

Following the developments of airline companies for passengers, evaluating their services based on various criteria, and ranking them in terms of success in various categories according to passenger votes, Skytrax announced the much anticipated results of this year.

Putting “passenger satisfaction” at the heart of its operations, Turkish Airlines ranked first in four categories based on passenger votes. The fact that the company has been winning these awards for few consecutive years proved the sustainability of its success.

Including this year’s awards, Turkish Airlines has been chosen “Best Airline in Europe” for six years, “Best Airline in Southern Europe” for eight, and “Best Business Class Dining Lounge” for two years in a row.

Turkish Airlines once again received the “Best Business Class On-Board Catering” award in addition to 2013 and 2014. Behind this award lies the Flying Chef service, offered by Turkish Airlines on long-distance Business flights, and a renewed menu with delicious treats.

The best companies are determined by independent researches which were organized by Skytrax and attended by more than 19.2 million passengers in 550 airports; the winners received their awards at the ceremony in London.

Receiving the award from Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee M. İlker Aycı talked about the dynamics of success and his pride in this achievement. “This award doesn’t belong to only Turkish Airlines, but to the Turkish Civil Aviation industry and is a shared success. Having been chosen the “Best Airline in Europe” for the last six years by passengers all across the world is very proud. It’s a rightful feeling for the whole Turkish Airlines family with more than 40,000 employees and our business partners. These awards in general are also an encouragement for us in our goal to be the best airline company in the world with our unique and innovative understanding of service. I’d like to thank all the hardworking members of Turkish Airlines family who share this joy with us today, and our dear passengers, and would like to renew our promise that we’ll share this success in the long years to come.”
