THE 7TH ISTANBUL SHOPPING FEST (ISF) PROMISES A PEERLESS EXPERIENCE FOR SHOPPING BUGS WITH DESIGN ISF BETWEEN JULY 1 AND 16.

Aiming to turn Istanbul into a center of attraction for shopping, the 7th Istanbul Shopping Fest opens the door to a whole new world. Turkish Airlines is one of the main sponsors of the festival that blends modern and traditional shopping experiences at Design ISF areas in shopping malls and exploration routes in the Grand Bazaar.

Design Areas in Nine Shopping Malls

Offering a discount frenzy of up to 70% on global brands, the festival features Design ISF areas at Akasya, Capitol, Emaar Square Mall, Forum Istanbul, IstinyePark, Kanyon, Palladium, Venezia Mega Outlet and Zorlu Center, and offers shopping opportunities in the Grand Bazaar, bringing together design, art and culture. Attended by nearly 200 local and international designers and 15 artists, the festival hosts a total of 150 events including exhibitions, workshops and Q&A sessions, and over 30 concerts and dance performances. Let’s take a look at some of the festival's highlights.

A Focus on Design

The festival reserves Design ISF areas for world-famous fashion designers such as Bahar Koçan, Arzu Kaprol and Gamze Saraçoğlu, and many other craftsmen from the fields of jewelry, accessories, furniture, ceramics, graphics, textiles, books, stationeries, glass, lighting and organic food.

Exhibitions

The festival hosts an installation by Günseli Kato at Kanyon; a sculpture exhibition by Malik Bulut at Zorlu Center; a sculpture exhibition by Yücel Kale at Akasya; a painting exhibition by Elif Tutka at Palladium; a sculpture exhibition by Aynur Onurmen at Capitol; and an installation by Ahmet Rustem at Forum Istanbul. The exhibition Benim Kalemimden Kapalıçarşı comprises sketches and inscriptions of quotes from famous figures about the Grand Bazaar. The Grand Bazaar will also host a photography exhibition by Mustafa Seven, a fashion installation by Bora Aksu from Istanbul Fashion Academy, and an interactive canvas graffiti exhibition by Hasan Pehlevan.

Concerts and Q&A Sessions

As part of the festival, shopping centers will host concerts of various genres from jazz to rock, classical music to tango. Experts in a number of fields such as healthy living, astrology, third generation coffees and micro greenery will attend the Q&A sessions.

Surprising Events

Venezia, the Venice-themed shopping center in Istanbul, will be filled with the excitement of the festival. World-renowned brands at Venezia offer discounts and promotions while workshops and events will truly reflect the festive spirit. The youngest shopping center on the Anatolian side, Emaar Square Mall will earn itself a place in guests’ memories with surprising events.

Fun for Kids

All shopping centers will organize workshops for kids throughout the festival. Kids will enjoy the festival by listening to stories, filling in coloring books and reading books.

“Have You Ever Been to the Grand Bazaar?”

An organization of firsts, Istanbul Shopping Fest brings the festival spirit to the Grand Bazaar, the world’s largest and oldest shopping center. The 556-year-old bazaar’s untrodden streets will be explored while the last representatives of crafts that are almost forgotten will share their experiences and talk about the history of the bazaar. Hosting various exhibitions, Q&A sessions and concerts, the Grand Bazaar will welcome famous figures who will express their feelings about this wonderful place at an exhibition.
